Repair of radio, navigation and amplifier Volkswagen Tiguan I covers the factory RNS radio-navigation units and the Dynaudio AMP600 amplifier – we check each of these devices after removing them from the car.

Which devices do we service in the Tiguan I model?

In the Tiguan I we check and repair the following factory devices:

  • RNS310 radio-navigation unit (Bosch) – device from around 2008–2014,
  • RNS315 radio-navigation unit (TechniSat) – device from around 2010–2015,
  • RNS510 radio-navigation unit (Continental) – device from around 2008–2016,
  • Volkswagen AMP600 amplifier (Dynaudio).

How do you tell which device has failed?

If the problem concerns sound, two devices may be involved. The AMP600 amplifier gives sudden crackling, after which the sound gradually disappears completely, and it can drain the battery while parked. However, popping and humming that sound similar may also be caused by the RNS510 – in cars with Dynaudio sound system they do not necessarily mean an amplifier fault. The RNS510 can also get stuck in a reset loop after the welcome logo.

The RNS315 and RNS310 report faults with messages on the screen: “Please insert software CD!” in the RNS315 and “Software update needed, Please insert download data carrier” in the RNS310.

What does the scope of repair depend on?

It depends on what the check of the removed module shows. We do not repair replacements fitted instead of original units (e.g. Android radios). When submitting, provide the make, model and year of the car, describe the fault and send a photo of the device and the sticker with the part number – we will prepare an initial, approximate quote. For sound problems, before removal we will determine which device should be sent. After checking, we confirm the price, and we carry out the work after your approval.
