Frequently asked questions and answers

Volkswagen Transporter T5 radio, navigation and amplifier repair: enquiry, module sending and quote.

Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in the Volkswagen Transporter T5?

Yes, we repair the original factory radio, navigation and amplifier from the Volkswagen Transporter T5; we do not accept replacements or Android units. Send the removed module for inspection, and we will then provide the repair scope.

Is repair worthwhile in the Volkswagen Transporter T5 instead of replacement?

Whether repair makes sense depends on the type of damage and the condition of the electronics in the removed module; after inspection we will provide the repair scope. Before sending, you will receive an initial quote based on photos and a description, and the exact price after the module has been checked.

How is the repair quote for the Volkswagen Transporter T5 prepared?

An initial quote for the Volkswagen Transporter T5 is given based on photos of the unit and a description of the symptoms before dispatch; after we receive and inspect the removed module, we confirm the exact price. The repair starts only after your approval.

Can I send the removed module from the Volkswagen Transporter T5?

You can send the removed module from the Volkswagen Transporter T5 from anywhere in Poland to our workshop; the unit can also be delivered in person by prior arrangement. Before sending, protect the screen and connectors, and use a rigid cardboard box with padding.

What should I prepare before submitting a module from the Volkswagen Transporter T5?

When submitting a module from the Volkswagen Transporter T5, include the car’s make, model and year, a description of the symptoms, and a photo of the front of the unit and the rating label. You do not need to know the radio model name; we will ask for the part number only if needed.

Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifier in the Volkswagen Transporter T5 covers three factory units: two radio-navigation units and the Dynaudio amplifier.

Which devices do we service in the Volkswagen Transporter T5 model?

In the Transporter T5 we repair the following factory modules:

  • Volkswagen AMP600 amplifier (Dynaudio) from the T5 and T5 Multivan, part numbers 7E0035466A–D and 7L0035466B,
  • RNS315 (TechniSat) radio-navigation unit, fitted in the Transporter T5 after the facelift,
  • RNS510 (Continental) radio-navigation unit in versions marked 7E0 035 680… for the Transporter and Multivan, used since 2008.

What symptoms indicate a faulty unit?

In the RNS510, a power-supply fault causes pops, hum or crackling in the speakers, a reset loop and battery drain while parked. The AMP600 amplifier starts with sudden crackling, after which the sound disappears, and it can also drain the battery. If both units are fitted in the car, pops in the speakers do not necessarily mean the amplifier is faulty.

The RNS315 fails differently: it will not switch on, freezes and resets, shows a software update screen, does not respond to touch, or cannot read discs and SD cards.

What determines the repair scope and what should be prepared for the enquiry?

The repair scope depends on the type of damage to the module. We repair original factory units; we do not accept replacements fitted in their place, including Android devices. For the enquiry, include the car’s make, model and year, a description of the fault, and a photo of the front and the sticker with the part number – based on this we will prepare an initial, indicative quote. We inspect the removed unit, not the car; after inspection we confirm the price and wait for your approval.
