Our repair service for the radio and navigation in the Volkswagen Phaeton covers the factory RNS810 radio-navigation unit, which we test once removed from the car.
Which unit from the Phaeton do we repair?
We repair the factory Volkswagen / Bentley RNS810 (Continental) radio-navigation system, used from XI 2008 (model year 2009) to 2016.
How can you tell the fault is in the module?
The RNS810 comes to our workshop with three symptoms: the unit freezes on the logo, restarts, or does not turn on at all. In your enquiry, describe which one you see and how the unit behaves from startup:
- whether the logo appears after ignition is switched on and how long it stays on screen,
- whether the unit restarts by itself and at what intervals,
- whether you manage to enter the menu before the restart.
What affects the repair decision?
You make the repair decision after checking the removed module and finding out the price. We repair the electronics of the original unit, and we do not deal with Android replacements. For an initial assessment, a photo of the part-number sticker, a description of the behaviour after switch-on, and information on whether the module has been repaired before or flooded are helpful.
Based on photos and your description, we prepare an initial, approximate quote; please also give the car make, model and year. Once we receive the module, we inspect it, confirm the price and repair the confirmed faults only after your approval. We test the unit before sending it back.
