Frequently asked questions and answers

Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifiers in the BMW G20: enquiry, module shipment and quote.

How can you tell whether the module in a BMW G20 is factory-fitted?

A factory unit has a sticker on the casing with the manufacturer’s logo and the part number. Send us a photo of it together with a description of the symptoms, and we will confirm whether it is a module we can accept for repair.

Will you repair an Android radio fitted in a BMW G20 instead of the original unit?

No, we do not repair replacements fitted in place of factory units. We deal with original radios, navigation units and amplifiers sent to us after removal from the car.

What should I write in the enquiry if I do not know the unit name?

Give the make, model and year of the car, describe the symptoms and attach a photo of the unit or panel and the rating label. The radio model name is not needed, and we will ask for the part number if required.

Is the quote given before sending the module final?

The quote based on photos and description is initial and approximate. We confirm the exact price after checking the unit received, and we only carry out the repair once you approve it.

Who removes the module from the BMW G20 and refits it after repair?

You arrange removal and refitting with a workshop near you, because we work on the unit itself. Send the module to the workshop by courier or deliver it in person by prior arrangement.

In the BMW G20 model, our repair of the radio, navigation and amplifier applies to factory units. That is the first thing we confirm before preparing a quote.

Factory module or replacement

The original unit is identified by the sticker with the part number on the casing. A photo of it lets us determine which module it is, even if you do not know its name. We do not repair Android radio-navigation units or other replacements fitted instead of the factory unit.

How to describe the symptom

Describe in your own words what happens: whether the unit switches on, what the screen shows, whether the sound disappears completely or only intermittently. Add the car’s year and information on when the fault started and whether anything came before it, such as disconnecting the battery or a previous repair. This description, together with a photo of the unit or panel, is enough for an initial, approximate quote. We will only ask for the part number if it turns out to be needed.

Bench check and decision

Only the module comes to the workshop, without the car. We check the unit received and turn the result into specifics: the scope of work and the exact price. We do not start the repair without your approval. If the symptom concerns sound and no single module can be identified, we agree before removal which components should be sent to us. We do not check the power supply and wiring in the car – that is the job of the person who has the vehicle on site.
