Frequently asked questions and answers

Repair of radio, navigation and amplifiers BMW 3 Series E91: enquiry, module shipment and quote.

Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in the BMW 3 Series E91?

Yes – we only service original factory modules in the BMW 3 Series E91, identified by the nameplate sticker. You send the removed module to us; we do not repair Android replacements.

Is it worth repairing modules instead of replacing them in the BMW 3 Series E91?

Whether repair is worthwhile is determined after inspecting the removed module; based on photos and a description we will prepare an indicative quote before shipment. After receiving the unit, we will provide an assessment and scope of work, and the repair starts after your approval.

How is the repair quote for a module in the BMW 3 Series E91 worked out?

Before shipment, we will prepare an indicative quote based on photos of the removed module, the sticker and a description of the fault. We confirm the exact price after checking the unit, and payment and the VAT invoice are arranged before return shipment.

Does the module from the BMW 3 Series E91 need to be delivered in person or sent by courier?

You do not need to bring the car in – we accept the removed module by post from anywhere in Poland, and the unit can also be delivered in person by prior arrangement. Protect the screen and connectors, use a rigid box, and fill the empty spaces.

What should be prepared before submitting a module from the BMW 3 Series E91?

Before shipping, provide the make, model, year, a description of the fault and photos of the front and the sticker on the removed module. Please also say whether the module has been swapped.

Repair of radio, navigation and amplifier BMW 3 Series E91 concerns the factory BMW CD73 Professional (Alpine) radio, fitted in BMW cars from around 2004–2013.

What fault does the CD73 radio arrive with?

It comes in with a complete failure to switch on: the radio screen is black and the unit does not respond to the power button. Warning chimes and parking sensor (PDC) signals also disappear. The button backlighting and CD mechanism may still work, which can be misleading, but it confirms that the radio has power and the problem lies in its electronics – in components on the main board.

How should the fault be described in the enquiry?

Just answer a few questions:

  • does the radio display stay black when the ignition is switched on?
  • does the button backlighting come on, and does the radio take in and eject the disc?
  • can you hear the warning chimes and PDC signals?
  • does the instrument panel show the message “SOS call system failure”?

Please include a photo of the front of the radio and the label with the part number, as well as information on whether the radio has previously been replaced with another unit.

Factory radio and the decision to repair

We repair original units identified by the label on the metal casing; we do not accept Android replacements. We check the unit supplied and confirm whether the fault matches the description. We then present the scope of work and the price, and start the repair after your approval. You can receive an initial indicative quote earlier, based on photos and the description.
