Frequently asked questions and answers
Repair of radio, navigation and amplifiers in Audi A1 8X: submission, module shipping and quote.
Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in Audi A1 8X?
Yes, we repair the factory multimedia modules in Audi A1 8X identified by the part-number label. We do not repair Android replacements; you send the removed module to the workshop, and we inspect it before quoting the price.
Is repair worth it instead of replacement in the Audi A1 8X?
You can decide whether repairing your Audi A1 8X is worthwhile after our initial quote based on photos and a description, and after checking the removed module. Once we have verified it, we will give you the scope of work and our proposal, and we only start the job after your approval.
How is the repair quote for the Audi A1 8X prepared?
For an initial quote for the Audi A1 8X, it is enough to send photos of the front panel and a description of the symptoms before you send the removed module. Once received, we check the condition and functions of the unit, then provide a detailed quote and the proposed scope of work.
Do I have to bring the car in, or can I send the module from an Audi A1 8X?
You do not need to bring the car in — send the removed Audi A1 8X module from anywhere in Poland, or drop it off in person by arrangement. Pack the module to protect the screen and connectors: a rigid box and padding, with any extra items packed separately.
What should I prepare before submitting an Audi A1 8X module?
When submitting an Audi A1 8X module, please provide the make, model, year, a description of the symptoms and details of any previous repairs. Attach photos of the front of the unit and the label with the part number; based on the photos we will provide an initial quote, and a precise one after checking the unit.
In the Audi A1 8X, our repair of the radio, navigation and amplifier mainly concerns the factory Audi RMC (Delphi) unit, which we check after removal from the car.
What unit do we repair in the Audi A1 8X?
In the Audi A1 8X we repair Audi RMC (Delphi), including part numbers starting with 8X0035180 and 8X0035182. The unit comes in two versions: as a standalone radio and as radio with navigation. You can find the part number on the sticker on the top of the casing, and if the unit still powers up, the software version in the system information starts with “RMC_”.
Symptoms of the Audi RMC fault
We repair three faults in RMC units:
- the unit does not switch on at all: it does not respond to the power button or ignition, the screen and buttons are not lit, and there is no sound from the speakers,
- after switching on, the Audi logo appears and the system stays on it, with no menu appearing,
- the unit shows the logo, then after a few or several dozen seconds the screen goes blank and the unit restarts — in a loop.
If your symptom looks different, describe it in your own words: what you can see on the screen after switching on the ignition and at what point the unit stops responding.
What should you prepare for submission?
Provide the make, model and year of the car, and attach a photo of the front of the unit and the label with the part number. On that basis we will prepare an initial, approximate quote before you send it. We confirm the final price after checking the removed module, and we only start the repair after your approval. We repair factory units; we do not accept Android replacements fitted in place of RMC.
