Frequently asked questions and answers

Repair of Volkswagen Passat B8 radios, navigation units and amplifiers: submission, module shipping and quote.

Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in the Volkswagen Passat B8?

Yes — we repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier for the Volkswagen Passat B8. We are an independent workshop, we accept the removed module from all over Poland, inspect it on receipt and present the repair scope before we begin.

Is repair worth it rather than replacement in the Volkswagen Passat B8?

Whether repair is worthwhile for the Volkswagen Passat B8 depends on the condition of the removed module and whether the damage affects the electronic sections. We inspect the removed module, assess the visible damage and present the scope of work for your approval.

How is the repair quote prepared for the Volkswagen Passat B8?

We prepare an estimated quote for the Volkswagen Passat B8 based on photos of the unit, a description of the symptoms, the make and year before dispatch. We confirm the exact price after checking the removed module, and begin the repair once you agree.

Do I need to bring the module from the Volkswagen Passat B8 in, or can I send it?

Send the removed module only — we do not need the whole car. We accept parcels from all over Poland, and you can also deliver the unit in person by prior arrangement; protect the screen and connectors and use a rigid box with padding.

What should I prepare before submitting the module from the Volkswagen Passat B8?

When submitting the removed module from the Volkswagen Passat B8, prepare the car make, model and year, a description of the symptoms, and a photo of the panel and the rating label. You do not need to know the radio model name.

Repair of the Volkswagen Passat B8 radio, navigation and amplifier covers the factory MIB3 (Preh) module, which we test after receiving the removed unit.

Which modules do we service in the Volkswagen Passat B8?

In the Passat B8 we repair MIB3 (Preh) units from facelift cars (from around 2019/2020). The module has FAKRA aerial connectors and a Quadlock connector on the back.

The radio is silent, but the screen works

This is what the audio fault in MIB3 (Preh) looks like. The symptoms you describe help confirm it:

  • no sound from any source — radio, Bluetooth or navigation,
  • the radio crackles, then locks on to one tone and buzzes until the key is removed,
  • after restarting, there is still no sound,
  • the screen, touch function and reversing camera all work normally.

The problem appears suddenly: one day everything works, the next there is silence.

What does the scope of repair depend on, and what do we check?

We connect the removed module to our test bench and check the audio inputs, sound processing and outputs to the speakers separately. We prepare an initial quote in advance — based on the description and a photo of the panel and the label with the part number; also provide the make, model and year of the car. We do not repair units fitted in place of factory units, such as Android-based replacements.

After checking the module, we present the scope of work and the price, and wait for your approval before repairing it.
