Frequently asked questions and answers

Alfa Romeo 156 radio, navigation and amplifier repair: request, module shipment and quote.

Do you repair the factory radio and navigation unit from the Alfa Romeo 156?

Yes, we check removed factory units from the Alfa Romeo 156: Bosch radio nav units and Magneti Marelli navigation units. We service only original units identified by the part-number sticker.

The navigation unit in the Alfa Romeo 156 asks for a code after the battery has been changed — what next?

This is the Master Code Request screen, which appears after power loss. The code is stored in the navigation unit’s memory, so we read it from the removed unit; please attach a photo of the screen and the sticker to your request.

What does the decision to repair the radio from the Alfa Romeo 156 depend on?

It depends on the type of fault and whether the unit has been repaired before. We provide an approximate quote based on photos and a description, and the final offer after checking the removed module.

Do I need to bring the car in to hand over the radio from the Alfa Romeo 156?

No, you send the removed module by courier from anywhere in Poland or deliver it in person by prior arrangement. Before sending, we will agree what to send; pack the module in a rigid box and protect the screen and connectors.

What should I include in a request for the radio from the Alfa Romeo 156?

Please provide the make, model and year of the car, describe the symptom and attach a photo of the unit and the sticker. You do not need to know the name of the radio — we will ask for the part number if it is needed.

Repair of the Alfa Romeo 156 radio and navigation covers the service of the factory units fitted in this model: Bosch Connect-series radio nav units and Magneti Marelli navigation units.

Supported factory units in the Alfa Romeo 156

In the Alfa Romeo 156 we service single-DIN Alfa Connect (Bosch / Blaupunkt) and Connect / RNS4 (Bosch) radio nav units, as well as Connect NAV and Connect NAV+ (Magneti Marelli) navigation units. Which one you have in the car will be confirmed from the front panel photo and the part-number sticker.

How to tell the problem is in the module

Each of these units gives a different signal that it needs repair:

  • Alfa Connect (Bosch / Blaupunkt) — individual pixels disappear on the display, then whole rows or columns,
  • Connect / RNS4 (Bosch) — bands or dead pixels appear on the screen and, over time, less and less content is visible,
  • Connect NAV and Connect NAV+ (Magneti Marelli) — after the battery is disconnected or the unit is fitted into another car, the navigation asks for a four-digit code (“Master Code Request”).

Scope of assessment and repair conditions

We check the removed module, not the car. The assessment is based on the condition of the unit and the data from the sticker with the part number. For Magneti Marelli navigation units with a code message, we read the code stored in the unit’s memory; for Bosch radios, we check whether the display can be repaired or needs replacing.

The scope of repair depends on the type of fault and whether the unit has been repaired before. We do not handle replacements fitted in place of original units, for example Android radios. After inspection, we provide a repair quote and wait for your decision.
