Unlocking new versions of Fiat 334 VP2 navigation
Fiat 334 VP2 is a new version of the factory unit produced by Continental..
Our Fiat Croma II radio, navigation and amplifier repair service covers the factory Connect NAV navigation system (Magneti Marelli), including when it displays the Master Code request screen after the ignition is switched on. We work on the removed unit.
Master Code request – where does this screen in the Croma come from
The navigation system communicates with the car computer via the CAN bus. If the body number differs from the one previously stored in its memory, the unit asks for a 4-digit code. Owners encounter this screen in three situations:
- after disconnecting the battery,
- after buying a second-hand Connect NAV navigation system,
- when the radio code never reached the current owner.
Where the code is stored
The code is stored in the flash memories on the navigation unit’s main board. To read it, we power up the unit on the bench outside the car and access these memories with a programmer. For this reason, we need the navigation unit itself, not the car.
What to include in your request
Tell us in what circumstances the code screen appeared: after battery work, after replacing the unit, or since buying the car. Add the Croma’s year, a photo of the screen and a photo of the sticker with the part number. If the navigation system has symptoms other than the code request, describe them separately: what is visible on the screen, whether there is sound, and whether the fault is constant. We prepare an initial, indicative quote based on the description and photos, confirm the exact price after checking the unit, and start work after your approval. We do not repair Android replacements fitted in place of the factory navigation system.
Frequently asked questions and answers
Repair of Fiat Croma II radios, navigation systems and amplifiers: enquiry, module shipping and quote.
What does Master Code request mean on the Fiat Croma II navigation system?
It is a request for a four-digit code displayed by the Connect NAV navigation system when the car’s body number does not match the number stored in its memory. Once the correct digits are entered, the unit returns to operation.
I do not have the code for the Connect NAV navigation system from the previous owner. What next?
The code is stored in the flash memories on the navigation unit’s main board, so we read it from the removed device. First send us a description of the situation and a photo of the sticker with the part number, and we will prepare an initial quote.
Will the code screen appear after fitting a used navigation unit from another car?
Yes, the navigation system compares the body number sent by the car computer with the number stored in its memory. When the numbers differ, it displays a request for a code, so a used unit needs its own code.
Do you need the car to read the code?
No, we power up the navigation system on the bench outside the car, and read the code from the memory on its main board. You arrange removal on site, and send us the unit itself by courier.
Do you accept a Croma navigation system with another fault, not just a code lock?
We accept factory radios, navigation systems and amplifiers, so describe exactly what the unit is doing and attach photos. After checking the module, we confirm the scope and the price, and we start the repair after your approval.
