Frequently asked questions and answers
Repair of Mercedes-Benz CLK C209 radios, navigation systems and amplifiers: submission, module dispatch and quote.
Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in the Mercedes-Benz CLK C209?
We repair only factory modules from the Mercedes-Benz CLK C209, identified by the sticker with the part number. We do not deal with replacement units fitted instead of the original equipment, for example Android systems.
Is repair in the Mercedes-Benz CLK C209 worth it instead of replacement?
The decision to repair a Mercedes-Benz CLK C209 depends on the condition of the original module and the confirmed extent of the damage. We will provide a preliminary quote based on photos, and confirm the final price after inspecting the unit.
How is a repair quote for the Mercedes-Benz CLK C209 prepared?
When quoting a Mercedes-Benz CLK C209 repair, we provide an indicative price based on the photos and fault description you send before posting the unit. After checking the module, we confirm the exact price and repair it once you approve; payment by bank transfer before return dispatch or cash on delivery.
Do I need to bring the car in, or can I send the Mercedes-Benz CLK C209 module?
You do not need to bring the car in – you send the removed Mercedes-Benz CLK C209 module from anywhere in Poland, or deliver it in person to our workshop by appointment. Removal and refitting are handled by a garage; we will agree what to send before dispatch.
What should I prepare before submitting the Mercedes-Benz CLK C209 module?
Before submitting the Mercedes-Benz CLK C209 module, send the make, model, year, description of the symptoms and photos of the front and the type label. On this basis we will give an indicative quote before dispatch, and after inspection we will confirm the cost.
Repair of the Mercedes-Benz CLK C209 radio, navigation and amplifier covers the factory Mercedes-Benz NTG2 (Harman Becker) unit, i.e. the Comand system combining radio, navigation and disc player.
Symptoms that bring the NTG2 to us
The list of faults reported for this unit is long. We repair, among other things:
- freezing on the Mercedes-Benz logo and rebooting in a loop,
- logo, after which the screen goes off and stays black,
- restarts while driving, after which the radio loses saved stations and sound settings,
- battery drain while parked, when the unit does not go to sleep,
- drive that does not read discs or will not eject them.
When might the cause lie outside the unit?
The NTG2 works in a fibre-optic MOST loop together with other modules such as the amplifier or changer. A faulty module breaks the loop, which may cause the navigation to freeze. If the screen shows the normal menu, the sound plays and the steering wheel controls work, but only the panel buttons do not respond, the cause may lie outside the unit – describe this in your enquiry before removing the radio.
What information should you prepare?
Describe the symptom and its sequence: what appears on the screen and after how long. Attach a photo of the unit front and the type label with the part number. On this basis we make an initial assessment of the enquiry, and after checking the removed unit we confirm the scope of work and the price. We repair factory units; we do not accept Android replacements fitted in their place.
