NTG4 and NTG4.5 faults
The problems with which these units come to the workshop fall into several groups. The first is starting up: the Comand does not switch on at all, the screen is black and there is silence from the speakers, or the unit shows the Mercedes logo and keeps restarting endlessly. The second is sound: silence on every source or an annoying clicking in the speakers that appears immediately or some time after startup. The third is media: the drive does not recognise discs or gets them stuck in the mechanism, the hard drive fails, or the SD card slot is damaged. A separate case is a unit that has been flooded, where corrosion progresses rapidly.
How does the assessment work?
We check the removed unit and compare its behaviour with the description. In your enquiry, state which group your fault belongs to, when it occurs and whether the unit has been exposed to moisture.
