Frequently asked questions and answers
Repair of Scania Series G NGS radios, navigation units and amplifiers: submission, module shipping and quote.
Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in Scania Series G NGS?
Yes – we repair factory removed modules from Scania Series G NGS; we accept parcels from all over Poland or delivery to the workshop. We do not repair replacements instead of factory units, identified by the sticker.
Is repairing a Scania Series G NGS module worthwhile instead of replacing it?
Whether a repair is worthwhile depends on the condition of the removed module; after checking it we will assess the extent of the damage, corrosion and completeness of the unit. On that basis we will present the scope of work and the proposed steps, and we will carry out the repair only after your approval.
How is the repair price for a Scania Series G NGS module assessed?
First, you can send photos of the front and the sticker, plus a description of the symptoms; on that basis we will give an initial, approximate quote before shipping. After checking the removed module, we will present the exact scope of work and final price; repair after your approval.
Do I need to bring in the Scania Series G NGS vehicle or send the module?
You do not need to bring the vehicle in; send the removed Scania Series G NGS module by courier or deliver it by arrangement. Have the workshop remove it; before sending, include a photo, description and pack the module in a rigid box with screen protection.
What should I prepare before submitting a Scania Series G NGS module?
When submitting, send the make, model and year of the vehicle, a description of the symptoms and a photo of the front and the sticker – this will allow an initial quote. You do not need to know the radio name, and have the workshop carry out the removal.
Repair of the Scania Series G NGS radio, navigation and amplifier covers the factory Scania AUS4 Basic radio (Harman Becker) and AUS4 STD navigation unit (Harman Becker), fitted in Scania tractors since 2017.
AUS4 Basic and AUS4 STD
AUS4 Basic is a radio with a non-touch screen and no navigation function. AUS4 STD has a colour touchscreen and navigation. Both units are available with or without DAB digital radio, and the model is confirmed by the sticker on the housing.
Which AUS4 faults do we repair?
The reports concern four situations:
- the unit freezes on the startup logo,
- the radio does not switch on at all and the screen stays black,
- there is crackling or humming in the speakers,
- the display is cracked.
The freeze on the logo appears when starting the vehicle with a booster, when voltage spikes damage the radio electronics.
Why does repairing your own radio matter?
AUS4 has no digital code. It is protected by the vehicle identification number stored in the unit memory, so a radio transferred from another vehicle locks up. That is why we check and repair the unit removed from your Scania. In your enquiry, describe the symptom, say whether the vehicle was started with a booster, and include a photo of the front and the sticker. We give an initial quote based on photos and the description. After checking, we present the scope of work and the price, and we carry out the repair after your approval.
